The Food Systems Synergy Study* Food Rules

The following guidelines are based upon what I have found works well for me. They are NOT rules; the term FOOD RULES is an indication of how much I love to eat and how I enjoy cooking delicious food while living healthfully all at the same time.

. Eat Motivated by
The Food Systems Synergy Study* Principles:
A. Make It HEALTHY AND DELICIOUS:
Eat what your mother makes (your heritage)
Eat what our mother makes (locally grown, seasonal, organic and/or the best quality available)
B.
Follow as many of these as possible:
Eat in moderation
Eat breakfast like a king/queen; lunch like a prince(ss) and dinner like a pauper!
Eat home cooked meals as much as possible
Enjoy eating and relax while eating
Be flexible about how and where you eat
Share food and mealtimes
Limit refined foods to occasional
When healing is required, eat health supportive and avoid refined foods
Avoid programs designed only for weight loss
Avoid synthetic sweeteners and foods containing them
Avoid extremes
C. Choose from a variety of systems:

Indigenous, ethnic, and traditional
Systems that you like (there are so many available)
Classic Health Food Systems used by Alison*s EAT-FREE (Five Element, Ayurvedic, Macrobiotic, etc.)
D. Eat in perspective by balancing . . . Eating to Live with Living to Eat!
